ABOUT
It is important for me to say, that although photography will always be my main medium, it is not my only medium. Similar to a graphic designer, I also use graphics and type, so I do not think of myself as a photographer. It is more accurate to say, I am a multimedia creative. I create multi-layered, digital imagery using various mediums.
After completing an HND in Photography & Digital Imaging at Dundee College in 2006, I had several spells hanging out in photographic studios in London. I quickly fell in love with studio lighting and realised that natural daylight just wasn't for me. I became obsessed with super, high-gloss aesthetics, only achieved with carefully crafted, studio lighting.
I now work from my small, home studio to produce low-cost, product photography and digital imaging. I create carefully lit compositions which I then embellish with graphics and type. I very much enjoy working with all kinds of clients, including both small and large businesses, all over Britain, to help promote their products online.
In my spare time I love getting to know new people and shooting their portraits. Portraiture is not a commercial commodity to me. It is something I am very passionate about. I have spent a long time studying both classic and modern portraiture and have even met some of my creative influences while hanging out in London.
Aside from photography, I am a keen cyclist. I love taking my folding bike on the train, throwing it in the back of a taxi and going on an adventure. I am currently learning French via a private tutor. It is slow going but very rewarding.
Anyway, feel free to get in touch. I am very informal in my approach to working relationships. I try to involve my clients as much as possible, often meeting for a coffee to exchange new and exciting ideas. I am always happy to chat.
